Adis Vila

Independent Director

Multicultural and multilingual, Adis Vila, a Cuban refugee, came to the US in 1962. In 1982 she was selected a White House Fellow, the premier leadership program in the US. She is the former global head of international business development at Vigoro, a $750M international agri-business company; former head of regulatory policy for the western hemisphere at Nortel Networks, a $22B telecom supplier; former Secretary & CEO of the Florida State Department of Administration; former Assistant Secretary & COO of the US Department of Agriculture.  An experienced financial executive, Ms Vila qualifies as an audit committee financial expert under SEC and NYSE Rules.

In 2013, Ms Vila retired from her position as the first Chief Diversity Officer at the US Air Force Academy and founded Vila & Associates, a consultancy focused on helping clients develop strategies to build diverse leadership and to foster an inclusive organizational culture. Ms Vila, a professional speaker, delivers keynote addresses and participates in “fireside chats” on leadership, organizational culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion, reinventing yourself, and living a regret free life.

Ms Vila serves on the Board of Directors of MessageComm; the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA Secretary, Executive Committee, Finance and Membership Committees); and DC based (but national membership) Connected Commerce Council (3Cs) President’s Council. Since 2015, Ms Vila holds the NACD designation of Board Leadership Fellow and is in the 2021 inaugural class of the Herndon Directors Institute.

Previously, Ms Vila was a Member, Board of Directors, Rural Telephone Bank, Washington DC, a Member, Advisory Board, Global Asset Management, $15 billion mutual fund of Union Bank Suisse (UBS), and a Trustee of the Southern Center for International Studies.

Ms Vila is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the International Women’s Forum (IWF) and Women Corporate Directors (WCD). She holds a JD from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, a Diplôme in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International Studies and Development, and a BA in Mathematics from Rollins College, al learned with honors. Additionally, she has an MBA with concentrations in business policy, organizational development, and marketing from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.


Bill Kracunas

Principal, Management Consulting RSM US LLP

Bill Kracunas serves as RSM’s national management consulting leader, a role he has held since 2015. He is responsible for setting management consulting’s strategic direction and ensuring the practice employs the latest technologies, methodologies and approaches to assist RSM’s middle market clients in improving performance. Bill is also RSM’s northeast region technology and management consulting leader.

Under Bill’s leadership, RSM’s national management consulting practice was named one of “America’s Best Management Consulting Firms” by Forbes in 2016. In addition, Bill has earned numerous personal accolades, including being named one of the nation’s “Top 25 Consultants” by Consulting Magazine in 2011 for Excellence in Technology and being named to the Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list in 2008, recognizing individuals under the age of 40 who have established themselves as leaders to be watched in their fields.

Bill joined RSM in 2010, with the firm’s acquisition of a Boston-based firm. He speaks frequently to professional and industry groups on topics that include digital transformation, strategy, technology trends, outsourcing and risk management. Currently serving as a board member of Junior Achievement of Northern New England, he is also a member of the Bentley Executive Club and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Future Leaders Program.

Mike Courtney

Mike is an executive leader with extensive experience in helping clients leverage technology to achieve their strategic business objectives. In his over 20 years of experience, he has built extensive skills in defining strategies that are enabled by leading-edge technologies. Mike has been focused on the intelligent automation and cognitive solutions area for over four years and has delivered innovative solutions with multiple large clients. His technology experience ranges from enterprise resource planning to custom applications to artificial intelligence solutions. His consulting approach leverages real world experience in providing practical business solutions for his clients.

David Shaw

Publishing Director, Directors & Boards and Private Company Director

David Shaw is the publishing director for MLR Media. He also co-founded and serves as conference director of the Transitions conferences, the Private Company Governance Summit and Family Business Legacy. David writes frequently on governance issues for public and private companies, and develops and maintains close relationships with multi-generational family-owned businesses. He is married, with two grown children.
