Ira T. Kay, a Managing Partner at Pay Governance, is one of the nation's foremost experts on executive compensation. Prior to becoming a Managing Partner at Pay Governance, Ira served as the global director of Watson Wyatt's Executive Compensation practice for 16 years.

Ira writes and speaks regularly on executive compensation issues. His most recent co-authored book, "Myths and Realities of Executive Compensation", documents the realities of executive pay in the United States and the forces that have shaped pay in recent years. He is also the author of "The Human Capital Edge, CEO Pay and Shareholder Value: Helping the U.S. Win the Global Economic War", and "Value at the Top: Solutions to the Executive Compensation Crisis." Ira has presented analysis of executive compensation issues before the Federal Reserve Board, the S.E.C., the F.A.S.B. and a U.S. Senate subcommittee. He is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, The Economist, and other leading publications. His articles have been published in the Harvard Business Review and the McKinsey Quarterly.

Patrick Haggerty is a Partner based in Pay Governance’s New York office. He specializes in the analysis, design and implementation of executive pay programs that drive shareholder value. Pat consults with publicly-traded, privately-owned and pre-IPO companies in a wide spectrum of industries regarding executive and non-employee director pay programs. His work includes pay level benchmarking (both U.S. and international positions), annual and long-term incentive plan design, and special situations.

Pat has significant experience in helping companies effectively handle significant changes, including spin-offs, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions. Pat works with numerous Fortune 500 and other prominent companies, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

Prior to joining Pay Governance, Pat was a senior consultant in Towers Watson's executive compensation practice.

Patrick has been published in leading journals and newspapers, including the Directors & Boards, Agenda, and Financier Worldwide. Recently, he has written articles entitled “Do companies known for innovation use incentive metrics that measure innovation?” and “2016 Compensation Trends in U.S.”

Pat earned a Master of Science degree in economics at the University of South Carolina and an MBA with a concentration in human resources at Georgia State University.

With more than 30 years of experience in business-to-business and consumer media markets, he has served as an editor, publisher, publishing director, group publisher and group vice president of a variety of publications, trade shows, conferences and websites. Prior to founding GRID Media, David served as senior vice president for Phillips Business Information Inc., where he oversaw nearly 100 discrete media properties, and helped build the business from $35 million to more than $100 million in annual revenues. He is a frequent author and speaker on issues related to business-to-business media, multi-generational family businesses and private and public company governance. He is married, with two grown children, one serving in the Navy and the other in law school.
