William Barr

From 1991-1993 he served as Attorney General of the United States. In 1994 he joined GTE Corp., where he was general counsel until the 2000 merger of GTE and Bell Atlantic Corp. to form Verizon Communications, where he served as EVP and general counsel through 2008. Following his retirement from Verizon, he most recently was of counsel at the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis. Also is a director of Selected Funds and cement supplier Holcim US Inc.
