Thomas W. Horton

He is the former chairman and CEO of American Airlines. He joined the airline in 1985, left for a stint with AT&T, serving as CFO and later vice chairman, and returned in 2006 to American as EVP of finance and planning. He was named president in 2010 and chairman and CEO in 2011. He led American through a restructuring and turnaround, culminating in the merger with US Airways, creating the world’s largest airline. He currently is a senior advisor at Warburg Pincus LLC.
