Richard Mies
Previously was president and CEO of Hicks and Associates Inc., a firm that provides executive-level strategic consulting to the federal government. Also held senior positions with Science Applications International Corp., the parent company of Hicks and Associates. Admiral Mies spent a 35-year career in the U.S. Navy, where he served in a wide range of positions, including commander in chief of U.S. Strategic Command and as commander of the nuclear attack submarine USS Sea Devil. He is chairman of the Naval Submarine League, a member of the Committee on International Security and Arms Control of the National Academy of Sciences, and a board governor of Los Alamos National Security and Lawrence Livermore National Security. Also is a director of McDermott International Inc. and Mutual of Omaha.
