Lloyd J. Austin III

Austin retired in mid-2016 as a four-star general after a nearly 41-year U.S. Army career that included his most recent assignment in 2013 as commander of United States Central Command. He was commander of United States Forces-Iraq from 2010 through the completion of Operation New Dawn in 2011. He then served as the 33rd Vice Chief of Staff of the Army.
