Frances H. Arnold

Arnold shared the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her work conducting the directed evolution of enzymes. She manages a research group and also serves as director of the Donna and Benjamin M. Rosen Bioengineering Centerat the California Institute of Technology. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2011 and has the rare honor of being elected to all three National Academies in the U.S. – the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Institute of Medicine.
