Anita Jones

Jones served from 1993-1997 as director of defense research and engineering in the U.S. Department of Defense, responsible for the management of the department’s science and technology programs. She previously was a founder and VP of Tartan Laboratories, a trustee of MITRE Corp., and vice chair of the U.S. National Science Foundation’s National Science Board. Among other affiliations, she is currently a senior fellow of the Defense Science Board and a member of the executive committee of the governing corporation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a recipient of the Department of Defense Award for Distinguished Public Service.
