Companies should reflect their customers. “Directors, regardless of committee assignments or special expertise, should be particularly interested in collaborating on key issues such as DEI, ESG integration, cybersecurity oversight and stakeholder engagement. By working together to make companies more reflective of their customers and communities where business is done, board members can drive positive change and elevate both board and company performance. Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability must be strong. The opportunity to contribute expertise to the boardroom and help shape the future of corporate governance must be treasured.”
