Continual learning is the path to good governance. “With the ever-changing sociopolitical landscape, the work of directors is more important and complex than ever. As such, the best directors will be those who understand how to appropriately impact and influence outcomes in the boardroom to ultimately create shareholder value. In simplest terms, this means continual learning about the company's industry and possible disruptors, keeping abreast of issues being tackled by boards, such as AI, politics, the war for talent and increased shareholder activism, and understanding that the role of a director is to help the company skate to where the puck is going to be.”
