Consider board composition and culture. “Corporate boards must continue to evolve significantly in composition and culture, as well as via the inclusion of a future-proofing transformation agenda. To enhance value creation, boards must intentionally bring on diverse perspectives. That may be achieved by attracting a diverse board in terms of gender, ethnicity and funtional expertise as well as bringing on directors with international experience and those from different industries. They must thrive to capture new competencies and perspectives that maximize impact. In addition, boards must also proactively build their culture to increase the contributions of all board members. Finally, discussions should embrace the role of new technologies, such as AI, and their potential to accelerate growth, profitability and continued competitiveness while managing risks.”
