Exercise your risk imagination. “There has never been a more compelling time for all directors, regardless of whether we sit on a risk or audit committee, to exercise our risk imagination and actively contribute to the alignment of risk and opportunity in our companies. While committees may own the oversight of specific risk categories, the integration of enterprise risk management with culture, strategy and performance is best accomplished by the full board. Our oversight of a strategic enterprise risk framework is perhaps the most effective way we as directors can contribute to the development and execution of a strategy that creates sustainable shareholder value.”
