A robust governance philosophy has to be stated to be effective. “Governance is pivotal to a company’s performance, stewardship and long-term value creation. The buck stops with the board, and developing a thesis around good governance prepares the company as a whole. Effective governance ensures that the company operates ethically, transparently and with accountability, which in turn builds trust with stakeholders, enhances the company's reputation and promotes its sustainability. Companies at the forefront of innovation and social impact must have governance structures and processes that are robust and agile to navigate complexities, manage risks and ensure that strategic decisions align with commitments to the environment, social responsibility and long-term shareholder value.”
