The Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors holds a program on “Social Media: A Director’s Best Friend or Worst Nightmare.” Anne Buchanan, a public relations professional, social media pioneer, and crisis management specialist, will demonstrate some of the various ways social media is being used by businesses, highlight organizations that are using it effectively, and discuss how directors can avoid (and curtail) the problems that social media can ignite. The most recent Directors & Boards directors roundtable, hosted by Debevoise & Plimpton partner James E. Johnson at the firm’s New York City headquarters, covered what directors need to know and what to do in the event of parallel investigations into the company’s activities.
